Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza is about to embark on a refurbishment of the shopping centre.
Centre Management has confirmed that the changes include external aesthetic upgrades, new toilet facilities and parents’ rooms, some internal works and carpark resurfacing. The works will commence on the 28th May 2019 with an expected completion of mid to late September this year. Award winning architects, Group GSA were appointed to design the shopping centre makeover.
Centre Manager, Mrs Tracey Carlill said that Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza has a strong representation of families in the trade area and that the community sees the shopping centre as a local meeting hub.
“The refurbishment of the shopping centre is designed to improve the shopping experience and meet the needs of the local customers. We want to strengthen our position as being central to the community, whilst maintaining the convenience and intimacy that Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza has long established.”
“Creating a community retail hub that connects and resonates with our customers’ needs and wants will be key in making this project a success,” Mrs Carlill said.
Mrs Carlill stated that, Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza will remain open during the construction and refurbishment and all efforts will be made to ensure disruption to shoppers and retailers is kept to a minimum. Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza offers Kmart, Coles Supermarket, Chemist Warehouse and 54 specialty stores.
